The UK Parliament hosts the annual sitting of the UK Youth Parliament (UKYP) on Friday 9 November 2018. The UKYP provides opportunities for 11-18-year-olds to use their elected voice to bring about social change through meaningful representation and campaigning.
Speeches will focus on 100 years since the first women gained the right to vote and commemorating the end of the First World War.
You will be able to watch the debate on the UK Parliament Facebook, Twitter and YouTube channels.
On behalf of the STP’s Maternity, Children and Adolescence Portfolio Board, STP Programme Director Rachel O’Connor, CCG Head of partnerships Carol Herity and Michelle McLoughlin from Birmingham Children’s Hospital have been working with the Youth Parliament in the West Midlands, local youth groups and a small selection of current engagement groups to seek their views on what ‘s important to them in order “to live happy and live healthy”.
Following this, the portfolio board will be expanding this out to a wider reaching and ongoing engagement and co-production programme with our children and young people across Birmingham and Solihull.
